There are images of my space being developed on the day of the set up as well as the exhibition itself. I hope you enjoy!

This was actually ment for Casey’s exhibit, but in the end I chose to change our spaces around, because i needed a socket so i could change and play the music as well as i would of had the radiator as well as i would have been too close to Kelseys work as i had the door too.

These are my 4 A3 images what show my best images.

My Town

‘My dress represents the tramps, homeless and prostitutes. Its slutty to show the prostitutes, dirty to show the tramps and made from some found objects such as beer can tops, wrappers etc. to represent the homeless as they find things.

My mask is a representation of druggies. I had inspiration from many sources such as TV, magazines and posters. There is also some drug related photos on my dress as I wanted the two pieces to connect. I’ve tried to show how I see druggies. I’ve also tried to use the shock factor to see if people from Chatham really see these things going on.’

Zoe Pease

This was Stacie’s piece for the exhibition.

Her main source of inspiration came from the Princes Park Pub.

Her creation was a dress using disciplines such as textiles, written work and installation. The final piece was designed to portray mixed emotions about Chatham although mainly negative ones.

No Entry

‘My project is a representation of how I feel about Chatham, what I see and what I link with the area I live in. Unfortunately I have a very negative view of Chatham which led me to my final outcome “No Entry”. I have created a no-entry sign using found objects that I feel link with Chatham and the activities that go on within it. Discover my views hidden behind shapes, colours and symbols.’

Now and Then

‘For this project we had to base our final piece on our town, Chatham. I decided to use photography to create a piece which would show how I feel about Chatham. I don’t have a lot of good things to say about my town so I also decided to show what Chatham used to be like years ago. I did this by using imagery and objects that relate to Chatham and that time of year showing old and new by hanging them onto a time/washing line. I hope this piece will show people of the younger generation what Chatham used to be like and how their town has changed so much over the years and I hope it gives people of an older generation time to reminisce and remember what it used to be like for them when they were growing up. I hope you enjoy looking at what I have created and please feel free to leave any comments in my comment book.’

Barney’s Fact Finding Trip around Chatham

‘My piece is all about bringing back the history to those children who know nothing about Chatham. I’ve had a lot of inspiration from my Grand-parents who have told me thousands of stories that have amazed me. I also got inspiration from a trip to the Isle of Wight where I bought a “Teddies Guide to The Isle of Wight” book. This book gave me the idea of creating my very own tourist teddy who would travel back to Chatham to see the many changes that have happened over the years. With this book, I’d like to educate not only children but adults/tourists themselves, about what Chatham used to be like compared to what it is now.’
